Michael Elkayam, born in 1954 in Morocco, is the shoot of an well-known family of craftsmen and scholars famous for their jewelry, calligraphy and copper relief inscriptions and ornaments. Michael Elkayam and his family arrived Israel in 1956. His works utilize both contemporary and classic artistic techniques, reflecting the timeless elements of Jewish symbolism. His subjects focus on mysticism as well as other Jewish themes: Ritual objects, amulets, blessings, images from the Bible, the synagogue and Jewish home, holidays etc. Michael Elkayam is a member of the Israel Association of Artists and Sculptures and has exhibited his works comprehensively in Israel and abroad.
